Our director, Dominic Murphy joined the financial planning industry in 1994 and has seen its transition from product sales with scant regard for the client to a profession where the client’s financial needs and requirements are paramount.
Dominic was an early adopter of fee for service advice and sees the industry becoming more aligned with his ethical view of the world.
He has seen the Australian economy have 27 years of uninterrupted prosperity but has experienced lows such as the Recession of the 90’s, the demise of the Tech boom in 2000 and most recently the Global Financial crisis of 2007-2008. Throughout, his advice is centered on trying to minimise risk and supporting his clients on their financial journey through all manner of ups and downs.
Dominic is part of a unique group in the financial planning industry, being both a qualified accountant and financial advisor. What does that mean to you?
Financial accounts give insight into companies both now and into the future. This insight is invaluable in selecting investments that may be the flavour of the month today, but may not have long term prospects for the future. It also means that he has a broader understanding of strategic financial planning in the use of Trusts, Companies and other entities.
